Welcome Back Bloordale !

Its seems like only days ago that we were leaving for summer vacation and already we are less than 48 hours away from the first bell of the 2021/22 school year! This year remains different than most due to the ongoing pandemic but like last year while there are changes, it will be great to see so many more familiar faces in the halls this year (when you see him, be sure to welcome Mr. Tricarico back to Bloordale who was missed last year)!

School starts on Thursday Sept. 9 and a letter went out today with details surrounding the first day and current health protocols that have been set by the TDSB and Toronto Public Health. If you have not received the email you can call the school to verify that the office has your correct email address.

Keep an eye on this space for updates on what School Council is up to, community events that may be of interest, TDSB news, and other fun things that will keep the families in our school community informed and hopefully having some fun along the way too.

By the way council meetings will continue to be held virtually for the time being as per TDSB safety protocols and info for the first meeting will be coming soon!

Wishing a wonderful and safe new school year to all of our students, teachers, staff, and admin :)

See you soon!

Sponsorship Options Still Available

Have you noticed the sponsorship signs outside the main doors?  Have you thought about how many people drive past that each day, how many of our neighbourhood  residents walk past each day?  Now what about the exposure that is given to our sponsors on our website, in these newsletters, and even at the event itself?  Keep in mind that we promote the Fun Fair right across the area through our feeder schools, local library, independent businesses, and community bulletin boards. 80% of the profit of this event will go right back into the school to improve the technology that our students use each day. Ask your kids how much it is needed, they will be your best insight! With all this said, there are 3 different levels and if you or someone you know is a small business owner who is looking to help a good cause, please consider Bloordale Fun Fair Sponsorship.  Contact us via email and we will have our Sponsorship Lead Extraordinaire contact you w...

Do You Need Help With ---- Food

So many families in our city find the expenses related to food difficult in the best of times; in the last couple of months this stress has become even worse for so many more families. There are families all over our city and beyond who earlier this year could never have imagined that they would be faced with food insecurity in a matter of only weeks!  As we all were looking forward to the end of a long winter and making plans for this spring and coming summer, future plans just stopped in place. I know I don't need to go on but what I want to use this post for is to let those of you who may need some help know who you an turn to here in our own community! But while we are able to one day tell stories of this time, many are still trying to come to terms with this new way of life. It is not easy and for many it is down right scary, if you need any help at all, you can reach out to your extended Bloordale family at anytime :) The TDSB has so many links at your finger tips to help you get started in finding help where you need it; from online learning to mental health, the website has got you many starting points. From one parent to another, you know your kids and if you can see that they are having trouble adjusting to the new school norms, reach out to your child's teacher; we are all in this together and this is new and unprecedented for all of us :) Looking for some online resources, the TDSB website may have what you need.
